NORFOLK ISLAND LAND INITIATIVE
The Norfolk Island Land Package has developed
from the joint Commonwealth and Norfolk Island Government Land Initiative.
The purpose of the Land Initiative is to facilitate the:
- transfer of land subject to Crown lease
(outside KAVHA) )to lessees on payment of an agreed sum; and
- transfer of Commonwealth roads to the
Norfolk Island Government.
Development of the Land Initiative Package
has seen the
- review of the Norfolk Island Plan;
- production of Development Control Plans
for new roads, water resources, multi-unit developments and signs;
- development of Norfolk Island legislation
for new roads, heritage, subdivisions, planning, and the Norfolk Island
Planning and Environment Board;
- development of the Plans of Management
for Norfolk’s Public Reserves;
- and development of the Norfolk Island
Heritage Register.
On Friday 27th February 2004 the final documents
required to complete the Land Initiative Package were published in the
Norfolk Island Gazette and the Package fully commenced. Please click the
